Experts predict that climate changes will increase dramatically in the future. In this essay, I will discuss the current causes and effects of global warming. Additionally, I will list a few solutions that can slow down the warming of our planet.

Climate change is largely caused by human activities and it presents a serious threat to the well-being of nature and people. The major source of global warming is fossil fuels, as burning coal, oil and gases produces carbon dioxide. Another significant reason is the exploitation of forests. Trees help regulate the climate by absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere. When trees are cut down, this positive effect is lost, and the carbon stored in the trees is released into the atmosphere.

On the other hand, global warming affects the existence of nature and all creatures on Earth including human beings. The ice is melting on the poles and as a result, the sea level is rising. It is predicted that, if the sea level continues to elevate some exotic islands such as the Maldives will disappear. Moreover, the number of some species such as penguins and polar bears decline each year, and soon the extinction of these animals will occur.

Despite these consequences, there are ways to reduce global warming. The primary solution to this is reducing carbon dioxide emissions as this is the major cause of global warming. In order to alleviate CO2 emissions, people can use public transportation rather than cars.

Considering all of the above, global warming is caused by human activities and affects all living beings on Earth. However, it can be reduced if people change their habits and start applying all the solutions mentioned in this essay. In this way, nature will be preserved and life on Earth will be prolonged.
